Today a squad of 18 team members of JKUT Sub Junior National Women Hockey Team namely Divya Sharma (GK), Rajanyaveer Kour Panday (GK), Simran, Saloni, Arzoo Koser, Asma Shaheen, Haiqa Banday, Vanshika Devi, Prachi, Maniksha Devi, Shivani Kumari, Simranjot Kour, Akshra Dutta, Nazia Koser, Anish Khursheed, Akshita Gupta, Lakshita Devi and Maryam Farooq was announced at K K Hakku Stadium Jammu which is going to participate in the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championships scheduled to be held at Ranchi Jharkhand from 3 to 14 July 2025.
Screening of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir Sub Junior Women Hockey Team was conducted by the screening committee of J&K Sports Council today on 28 June 2025 at K.K Hakku Stadium Jammu.
Sh. Ajay Gupta (Manager K.K. Hakku Stadium) along with Mr. Joginder Kumar and Jagjeet Singh (Hockey coach) were present from J&K Sports Council during the screening along with Sh. Tejinder Singh (Secretary Hockey J&K), Robin Singh (Executive Member Hockey J&K), S. Charanjit Singh (Retired Chief Coach J&K Police Hockey Team), Anjali Thakur Khelo India Hockey Mentor Sahil Kumar and Geeta Kumari.

HOCKEY THRILLER IN HIRANAGAR: SAHIL CLUB CLINCHES 1-0 VICTORY IN ELECTRIFYING TOURNAMENT!

Hiranagar, June 21, 2025 – The Hiranagar Hockey Club, under the prestigious banner of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir, delivered a heart-pounding hockey tournament that had fans on the edge of their seats! In a nail-biting finale, Sahil Club emerged victorious, edging out their opponents with a razor-thin 1-0 scoreline, igniting roars of celebration at the packed Hiranagar Hockey stadium.

The tournament, a showcase of raw talent and fierce competition, was graced by none other than Hon’ble Cabinet Sports Minister Mr. Satish Sharma as Chief Guest. Adv. Vijay Sharma served as Guest of Honour. Hockey J&K officials including Dr. Taran Singh (General Secretary), Tajinder Singh (Secretary), Shelav Sharma (Executive Member), and Varinder Singh (DTI) were also present to boost the morale of young players.

Gagandeep Singh was adjudged *Man of the Match*, while Sanjay Singh won *Best Scorer of the Tournament* for his outstanding performance.

The match saw flawless officiating by an expert panel including Rohit Sharma, Harsh Dev Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, and Ajanya Jasrotia.

Dr. Taran Singh praised the event as a milestone for grassroots hockey in J&K. Minister Satish Sharma applauded the organizers and assured continuous support for the development of hockey in the region.

The electrifying match, filled with adrenaline and passion, marks a new beginning for hockey in Hiranagar. Sahil Club’s victory inspires young players to dream big and aim high!

*Book , school bags and copies Distribution Drive Held at KK Hakku Stadium, Jammu* Jammu, June 4, 2025* – A meaningful initiative to promote education among underprivileged communities took place today at KK Hakku Stadium, Jammu, with the distribution of books to approximately 25–30 deserving individuals. The event was led by Mr. Rajiv Sharma, Member of the J&K Sports Council, known for his dedication to social upliftment and community welfare. The occasion was honored by the presence of Mr. Aman Sharma, High Performance Director of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), who served as the Chief Guest. Distinguished attendees included Dr. Taran Singh, General Secretary of Hockey J&K (Guest of Honor), Mr. Gurmeet Singh (Retd. Managing Director, PDC), Mr. Satpaul Singh (Divisional Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council), Mr. Ajay Gupta (Manager, KK Hakku Stadium), Ms. Ritika Slathia (Incharge, Indoor Stadium Bhagwati Nagar), Mr. Vikas Mangotra (Incharge, Football Ground, Science College), Ms. Pawandeep Kour (Athletics Coach), Mr. Jagjeet Singh (Hockey Coach), Mr. Janak Singh (Veteran Hockey Player), Mr. Shelav Sharma (Executive Member, Hockey J&K), and Mr. Taranjeet Singh (Member, Hockey Bandhu Rakh). A highlight of the event was the felicitation of Dr. Taran Singh, recently elected General Secretary of Hockey J&K, whose leadership and commitment to advancing hockey in the region were widely praised. Speakers at the event underscored the importance of balancing sports and academics, encouraging young athletes to pursue education with the same passion they bring to their sports endeavors. This initiative aimed to foster holistic development, ensuring that youth grow into well-rounded individuals equipped for success in all aspects of life. Selection Trials for Sub Junior women Hockey team. Hockey J&K is going to conduct selection trials of JKUT Sub-Junior Women Hockey Team on 10-06-2025 to 11-06-2025 ,04:00 Pm at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium Jammu for 15th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship Scheduled to be held at Ranchi Jharkhand w.e.f 03-07-2025 to 14-07-2025 . The Coaching Camp will be organized w.e.f. 12-06-2025 . Interested players should report on time at the venue along with below mentioned documents. 1. Players must be registered on Hockey India MU Portal 2. Player must be born on or after 01-01-2009. 3. Players must carry an ID Proof (Adhaar Card, or Passport). Elections of Hockey J & K were held,Mr. Gurdeep Singh Elected President. Election meeting of Hockey J&K held at Srinagar in Hotel Namroz , Srinagar under the observation of J&K Sports Council, Hockey India . Mr. Sekar J Manoharan Treasurer Hockey India was the observer deputed by Hockey India and Ms. Musbat Ismail Deputy Legal Remembrancer was deputed Returning Officer for the conduct of fare and smooth elections by J&K Sports Council along with Mr. Goutam Shukla present as the observers of J&K Sports Counsel. The elections were held in a very congenial atmosphere. Speaking on the occasion Observer from Hockey India Mr. Sekar J Manmohan said that Indian Hockey is doing its best and as of now no other field game association is performing like Hockey India. Right now 4 teams are in Europe and Argentina . He congratulated the new team of Hockey J&K and assured them all possible support to promote hockey in J&K. Ms. Musbat Ismail returning officer while congratulating the elected team said that she expect from new team to work for the promotion of game with the support of JKSC.
